Johnny Depp enters the world of rum

Three Hearts, a personal project between style and symbol or, if you like, from Captain Jack Sparrow to an authentic expression of the Caribbean spirit.

“Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum…” — the iconic line seems to have somehow become a reality. Johnny Depp takes the step into the spirit universe, launching Three Hearts Rum, a project that goes beyond the simple image association and enters the personal, almost autobiographical area.

From the spotlight to the fine beverage industry

In recent years, launching a beverage brand has become a natural extension for many celebrities. In the case of Johnny Depp, however, the choice of rum seems more than strategic, it is almost inevitable. His image is already linked to rum culture through the character Captain Jack Sparrow, but Three Hearts goes beyond the cinematic reference.

“Rum preserves the history of the islands,” Depp says. “It’s shaped by the hands of people who grow the sugar cane, ferment the drink, and age it over time.”

A design that tells a story

Three Hearts is not only a rum, but also a design object. The glass was designed by Depp himself, who sketched out the shape and graphic elements. The design integrates personal symbols — the skull, the lightning bolt and the three hearts — a tribute to his family: Vanessa Paradis and children Lily-Rose and Jack.

The details continue with a bracelet-style charm at the neck of the bottle and the motto engraved at the base: “No Fear. No Malice. No Envy.”

Flavor profile: between dessert and spices

Beyond storytelling, Three Hearts proposes a clearly defined aromatic profile. Described as having notes of toffee, wood, spices, candied orange peel and vanilla, the rum is positioned in a warm, round, slightly indulgent area.

It’s an affordable style, but complex enough to appeal to even more experienced consumers.

Two-stage maturation: structure and refinement

Produced in the Dominican Republic, rum goes through a carefully constructed maturation process:

  • 5 years in ex-bourbon barrels
  • followed by 2 years in cognac barrels

This double maturation adds layers of complexity — from caramelized sweetness to softer, almost elegant hues.

More than a celebrity brand

Three Hearts Rum isn’t just another famous name on the label. It is a project that combines personal storytelling with a well-built product and distinctive design. In a crowded market of celebrity brands, the difference is precisely this coherence between image, concept and content.

And for those looking for more than just rum in a glass, it comes with a rare perk: a story that begins before the first sip.
