A single malt that is discovered in silence

Highland Park

“Between You and I” is an encounter between Nordic precision and Scottish tradition, in a whisky that invites introspection.

Between You and I, the result of a collaboration between Highland Park and Swedish chef Björn Frantzén, is not just a 16-year-old single malt, but an invitation to a personal experience, in which tasting becomes a silent dialogue between memory, emotion and senses.

A geography of character

In the Orkney archipelago, where the wind and the sea shape not only the landscape, but also the spirit of the place, Highland Park continues its story that began more than two centuries ago. It is a distillery that has never separated the Scottish tradition from the Nordic heritage, but has let them coexist, discreetly, in each bottle.

This dual identity becomes the starting point for Between You and I. The choice of Björn Frantzén as a partner is not accidental: he is a creator who works with the same precision and sensitivity, transforming ingredients into experiences. In his hands, gastronomy becomes a form of introspection — and whiskey, a natural extension of this philosophy.

Swedish Oak and a New Direction

For the first time in the history of the distillery, Highland Park introduces virgin Swedish oak barrels into the maturation process. It is a brave gesture, but perfectly coherent in the context of collaboration — a subtle bridge between Scotland and Scandinavia.

These barrels join the traditional European and American oak barrels, previously used for sherry and bourbon, creating a layered balance. The result is a 16-year-old single malt with a velvety texture and complexity that does not seek to impress with intensity, but with clarity and finesse.

No rules, no imposed grades

Perhaps the most surprising gesture of this project is the absence of official tasting notes. In a world where every flavor is cataloged and explained, Highland Park and Frantzén choose to leave room for personal interpretation.

It is a rare invitation: to taste without a guide, without looking for external confirmations. Each glass thus becomes an intimate experience, in which the flavors — whether citrus, vanilla, spices or dried fruits — are not described, but discovered.

The subtle smoke specific to Highland Park remains present, but does not dominate. It is rather an imprint, a discreet signature that ties all the elements together in a coherent and elegant discourse.

Refinement as a personal experience

Between You and I is not a whiskey that imposes itself. It does not seek to be spectacular, but memorable. It’s the kind of expression that gradually reveals itself, quietly, as you give it time and attention.

Available in a limited global edition priced at $180, this single malt reflects a subtle shift in the world of premium whiskey. The focus is no longer exclusively on rarity or technical specifications, but on lived experience.

Between you and the moment

Highland Park manages, once again, to turn distillation into an art form. But, this time, it is not an art that is exposed, but one that is discovered.

Between You and I is not just a name. It is a promise — that beyond any story, any technique or any reputation, there remains a simple moment: you, the glass and the silence in which the flavors make sense.
